Greater Kansas City Morehouse Alumni Chapter

Morehouse produces a very diverse group of community leaders.  Below are some Alums who are either living in the Kansas City area or who were raised in the Kansas City community.

Jesse Barnes is a 1997 graduate with a degree in Business Administration.  Mr. Barnes is currently a student advisor for the Kauffman Scholars Progam, he is also the founder of Brown Bag Productions a nonprofit that promotes literacy among kids.

Merrell Bennekin is a 1998 graduate with a degree in English.  Mr. Bennekin has a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.  He is currently a Deputy Director for the Board of Police Commissioners.  Mr. Bennekin is deeply involved with the Kansas City community in multiple capacities:  President, Center School District Board of Education; Vice Polemarch, Independence Alumni Chapter, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. YouthFriends Board of Directors, Metropolitan Community Service Program Board President, KC Crime Commission, Adjunct Professor of Criminal Justice, Metropolitan Community College - Penn Valley.

Keith Cutler is a 1986 graduate with a degree in Physics.  Mr. Cutler also has a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Missouri Kansas City.  He is currently an attorney with James W. Tippin & Associates.  Mr. Cutler is very active in his profession where he serves as a member of the Missouri Supreme Court Civil Rules Committee and The Missouri Bar Legal Education Committee. 

Aaron Ellison, M.D. a Kansas City native, is a high school graduate of Lincoln College Preparatory Academy and a 1998 graduate of Morehouse College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry.  Dr. Ellison has an M.D. in Medicine from the University of Missouri - Columbia and is currently a physician with Carolinas Health CareSystem in Charlotte, NC.
